Problem: I need to survey a bunch of people and get the results in Excel.

Strategy: The Excel Web App makes this simple. Go to OneDrive.Live.com. Open a new blank workbook. On the Insert tab, choose Survey, New Survey.

A new box pops up. Enter a survey title and subtitle. Build new questions. The survey supports a number of answer types, including Yes/No, Multiple Choice, text.

When you are done, click the Share Survey button. Then Create Link. Then Shorten Link. To try this survey, go to http://1drv.ms/1toyhth.

  1. Create an easy online survey.

Share the link, and wait for the answers to roll in to your Excel Online spreadsheet:

  2. Each recipients results get loaded into your online workbook.
