Hey, welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I am Bill Jelen.
Well, here's a cool trick for Excel 2007.
In the past versions of Excel, it was always hard to create the green bar formatting, the alternating row formatting.
In podcasts in the past, we've talked about using conditional formatting.
To check the Mod of the ROW Function to see if it was equal to 0 or 1 and format it that way.
It is so much easier now in Excel 2007.
Here let me just select one cell in my dataset.
Use Format As Table and look they have all these different formats.
So, I can just choose the one that I want.
Click OK and we're done.
Now, it applies some special table formatting.
If you don't want any of those table functionality, very simple.
Just come here and click Convert to Range.
You know..
And now we just have a normal range.
We, very quickly applied green bar formatting.
You need to do it again, three clicks and you're done.
A great improvement in Excel 2007?
Hey, thanks for stopping by.
We'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
