Hey Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast. I'm Bill Jelen.
Today we have a cool tip sent in by Joe Martin. Joe is a frequent contributor to the podcast.
We were talking about auto filter a few weeks ago, and Joe said, Hey, you know there's a cool tip that you didn't mention.
Sometimes in Auto filter you have a nice short list and it's easy to use the slider to go through that list C.
But other times you have a column it just has hundreds of different unique values and with that It's really frustrating. For example, if we're trying to get to the "Ts" and you never know if you're going to overshoot or undershoot or anything like that, so he says open the list and then just type the first letter where you're trying to get. So for example, we're trying to get to the "Ls".
I'll press the L and it will instantly jump to the "L's" and now I can quickly scroll through the "Ls".
He also pointed out that while this is open you can use page up or Page down to go through the list or the home key will take you to the beginning, End key will take you to the end.
Just a couple of great navigation tricks.
My favorite one though of course, is just to hit the first letter and it'll take you directly to that spot in the list and then you just have a few more up or down to sort through.
