Hey, welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I'm Bill Jelen.
You know when I started the netcast.
It was at the suggestion of Leo laporte.
Leo said you know it'd be great if you would start an excel podcast and I went out to iTunes and I tried to find some other podcasts, I thought I'd be interested in and the first one I found was something called the 2-minute photoshop podcast.
The guy promised a 2 minute podcast. I opened the first few and he took like 7 or 8 minutes to give the photoshop tip and I said how can you call yourself the two minute podcast?
You were taking 7 or 8 minutes.
So I realized that in yesterday's podcast the question from Rod went on and on and on for almost 5 minutes.
So if that happened to be the first time you're watching the netcast.
I promise to get it done in 2 or 3 minutes most of the time but every once in a while we have something a bit more complicated.
Here is a very simple short one since it's friday.
When you have a worksheet and need to make copies of the worksheet.
My usual trick is to say that we hold down the Ctrl key and click and drag the January worksheet and that makes a copy of January (2).
I can very quickly make copies of the worksheet.
But sometimes you just need to insert a new worksheet.
you don't need to make a copy you just want a brand new worksheet and rather than using insert worksheet the fast fast fast way to do this is to hold down the shift key and hit F 11.
So I'll hit shift F11. I get sheet 2 if I needed to add a dozen sheets, just hold down shift and very quickly. I've added a dozen new sheets to my workbook without having to go insert worksheet, insert worksheet, insert worksheet all the way down the line.
So next time you need a new worksheet, hold down the shift key hit F 11 and you're good to go.
Thanks for stopping by. We'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
