In the past, I've talked about when you have to enter data going across a worksheet, to go to tools, options and then on the Edit tab, change the move selection after enter direction, to be right and we've talked about how you can pre-select the data that you want to enter.
Basically, that new 123, 234, 345, 456 and the great thing about that is that then jumps back to the original spot.
There's another way to do this that's actually I think a little bit cooler if we use tools, options and on the Edit tab just leave the move selection after an introduction as down.
Now, we don't have to pre-select any data at all, but we use 123 and then [ tab ], to the next cell.
[ Tab ] [ Tab ] [ Tab ].
And now that we've reached the last column.
We hit the [ enter ] key and Excel is smart enough to jump back to the first column.
This is a really cool trick for Microsoft without having to go in and press select the data or change your tools, options, edit move direction.
You can always take a spot, start entering numbers, [ tab ] [ tab ] [ tab ] [ tab ].
And then [ enter ] and Excel is smart enough to jump back to the beginning, great trick.
Especially, if you're doing a lot of data entry.
