Hey, welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, I'm Bill Jelen.
Cool trick here, that is available on many of the toolbars, that's been around forever.
And basically, if you open up one of these drop-downs, for example the Font Color drop-down, you'll notice that there's a row of dots at the top of the drop-down.
You can click on those dots, and tear the palette off, and float it above your spreadsheet, there are dozens and dozens and dozens of pallets you can tear off.
For example, want the Fill Color, we can take that, tear it off, and put it above our spreadsheet.
And then, you don't have to go open the palette, you can just select a cell, select a color, select a cell, select a color, select a cell, select a color.
You'll be amazed when you start to look at how many different tear-off palettes there are.
We were talking about AutoShapes for the past couple of days, all of the AutoShapes pallets are tear-off palettes.
I mean, you can just float those above your spreadsheet, select an object and draw, select an object and draw.
Great way if you have to create many different AutoShapes or change the fill color many different cells.
Tear the palette off, float it above your spreadsheet, and you're good to go.
Now, when you're done just hit the X and the palette goes away.
