Welcome back to the MrExcel podcast, I'm Bill Jelen.
I have a really simple trick for you today.
Sometimes you have a column of numbers, and you make the column a certain width, and there's just a few numbers that are too large, and you end up with a #, saying that it won't fit in the space.
If you don't have the room to make the column wider, for example you're trying to make a lot of columns fit on a page.
You can select those cells and go to Format Cells, and on the Alignment tab check the box for Shrink to fit.
This cool little option will take whatever number’s there, and make the font size just a little bit smaller, so that way it will actually fit in the cell.
That way you don't have to worry about getting the # when you print because the number won't fit.
Hey, thanks for stopping by, we'll see you next time for another podcast from MrExcel!
